About the Event
Join Evita Lavitaloca Sawyers, creator of “Today’s Polyamory Reminder” and subject of the documentary “Poly Love”, for a discussion on Poly Disclosure Agreements. She describes herself as loud, proud, and a voice for black, poly, feminist, sex-positive, body-positive....basically awesome people everywhere.
She'll cover:
• What is a Polyamory Disclosure Agreement?
• How do we discuss what is considered pertinent or need-to-know information?
• How do we navigate different privacy needs?
• How can we honor each individual partner's different ideas about what “transparency” is?
Check out https://medium.com/@evitalavitalocasawyers to see her thoughts on polyamory. Her regular Polyamory Reminders are deep dives into some of the abiding truths of that relationship style.
Sample quote: "Longevity isn't the only metric for 'success' of a relationship. Non-monogamy gives us space to determine for ourselves what makes a relationship successful. Even if a relationship has ended, you can still value it as a successful one to you."
Another: "Polyamory places us in situations that are entirely new and foreign to us, often revealing insecurities that we didn't even know we had. Be gentle with yourself. Be gentle with your partners."
