Rising Stars Fund
Elevating the voices and knowledge of TGI & BIPOC
Sex Positive World is making anti-racism and intersectionality a priority and part of that is by supporting more voices within our community who may not have the resources to volunteer their time or energy to the sex positive movement, but who have valuable knowledge and ideas to contribute.
This fund was collaboratively created by Dr. Evelin Dacker and Sex Positive World to financially support leadership within Sex-Positive World that identify as Black, Indigenous, a person of color (BIPOC); or transgender, gender-variant, or intersex (TGI - this includes anyone who doesn't identify as cisgender).
This can be for anything from facilitating core classes, developing curriculum for SPW or SP chapters, or gaining sexy leadership skills at conferences or trainings.
What can it be used for?
Compensation for facilitating classes and events to help assure that classes and events can be offered to and by marginalized folx in ways that make sure marginalized folx can sustainably put their energy into chapter leadership.
Funding for taking leadership development training.
Compensation for curriculum development intended to raise awareness and sensitivity that requires the emotional labor of BIPOC/TGI
Other requests for compensation that further BIPOC and TGI leadership development and sustainability
How much support is available?
We are committed to using the Rising Stars Fund to support the leadership development of as many BIPOC and TGI individuals as possible. Possible uses of funds include:
$50-$100 for the delivery of existing SPW core courses or events
