About Gender Affirming Intimacy

Gender dysphoria is when someone has an emotional or physical feeling that feels misaligned with their gender identity. Gender Affirming Intimacy is a workshop geared towards helping ourselves, partners, or other loved ones experience the opposite of dysphoria, gender euphoria!

We'll explore how positive, gender-affirming physical, emotional, & mental intimacy can make ourselves or others feel more aligned with their beautiful, authentic selves.

• We'll achieve this by covering:
• Learning terminology around Trans bodies
• Identification of the multiple forms of intimacy
• Creating euphoria through affirming language
• Adapting to different forms of sexual & non-sexual touch
• Finally, towards the end of this class, we will help you develop your own “Gender Affirming Profile” or navigate helping a trans partner create their own Gender Affirming Profile!

Gender non-conforming people may also benefit from pieces of this to create their own unique Gender Affirming Profile. People who are not familiar with trans bodies or terminology are also encouraged to attend. 

We are here to educate without stigma! Please note this class is GREAT for partners of trans people & trans people alike! This is the place you get to ask questions & learn without judgement!

About the Presenters:

Lady V

Lady V (she/her) is a spiritually & socioculturally driven sex-positive educator, community organizer & Professional Dominatrix. Prior, she served as the Program Manager for one of the few agencies in the world specializing in navigating sexuality & gender for people navigating intellectual/developmental disabilities.

Lady V has taught for conferences & sex positive venues across the US. She serves as an Advocacy Board Member for Sex Positive World & proudly helps facilitate their education as the Remote Education Coordinator. Lady V has also served the community by facilitating public health events.

She is an out, proud, & fierce-as-fire transwoman with a passion for empowering others. While hailing from Detroit, Michigan, she has settled in Salem, Oregon, where she serves as the majordomo for her leather family, the Atomic Army. She hopes to inspire others to enjoy sex positivity from an authentic place, as well as embrace their spiritual place within sex positivity & find healing within it. Jamie Love

Jamie (She/they) is the executive director of Sex Positive World; she has been hosting speed dating since 2019. She is polyamorous, queer, and kinky, with a love of shibari/rope bondage. She leads discussion groups and classes on relationships of all sizes, orientations, and dynamics. About Affirmations:

Affirmations LGBTQ+ Community Center was founded in 1989 with a mission to provide a welcoming space where people of all sexual orientations, gender identities and expressions, and cultures can find support and unconditional acceptance, and where they can learn, grow, socialize and feel safe.

Our goal then was to fight for acceptance and basic human rights for our LGBTQ+ community. We proudly celebrate Ferndale Michigan as one of the most LGBTQ+ friendly cities in the United States.

Today, we have seen how quickly threats can reemerge in our community. LGBTQ+ lives are still threatened at home and abroad. As I write this, LGBTQ+ people can still legally be denied housing, public accommodation, and be fired from their jobs in many states around the country, including Michigan. Health disparities throughout the LGBTQ+ community are vast and there is much more work to do. We will always remember our history as we build our future, and will never stop.
