Do you fall within the broader spectrum of gender beyond your assigned, binary one? Or outside of the gender spectrum altogether? Are you looking for more community with sex positive folks outside of the cisgender binary? Then this group is for you!

Let’s gather virtually from around the world to talk about our gender journeys, the intersections of gender and sexuality, our experiences in sex positive community, and anything else about gender, sex, and relationships.

This will be our first such gathering, so if you join us this time you’ll get to help us shape what this group and these events become. My hope is to create a space where we can be vulnerable with each other, process feelings and get support navigating challenges, make connections, and enjoy each other’s company.

This first event will be fairly loosely structured, but my intention is to start with introductions and getting to know each other, open up the space for some more intimate sharing and discussion, talk about topics of interest and ideas for what you’d like the group to be, and check out together in a closing circle.

Note: this space is not open to allies, so if you are cisgender (you identify with the gender you were assigned at birth) and interested in this topic please keep an eye open for future educational events on gender diversity that are open to all! That said, I realize that imposter syndrome is common within the gender diverse community, so if you are questioning your gender and unsure if you can join, know that you are more than welcome in this group.

Meet Your Facilitator:

My name is Dawn (they/them) and I am a white, non-binary, polyamorous, pansexual climate scientist and sex positive activist. While I’ve been sex positive all my life, I have only been active in sex positive community for the past six or so years, beginning in Los Angeles. I fell in love with the values of welcoming all forms and facets of sexuality between consenting adults and with the freedom to openly and honestly share and connect with others around sexuality. But I came into all of it identifying as a cisgender woman and only a couple of years ago came to recognize my non-binary self for who I am. It’s been a challenge to rediscover my own relationship to sexuality and romance in the context of this new awareness, and I don’t have nearly enough spaces in my life where I can process these complexities. Since I am so new on my own gender journey, my intention is to create and hold space for this discussion and whatever shape we want these events to take, but I am not here as an expert or teacher on the subject of gender diversity - rather, I am here to do my own learning and growth as well.
