Erica will lead us through discussions on facets of consent and consent culture, such as moving from a permissive to a collaborative model of consent and the impact of systemic inequity on consent. She will also introduce us to fun and interactive exercises to help teach consent skills such as

• what to do when you're a maybe
• how to check in with yourself to know whether you are a yes or a no
• hearing no graciously
• asking for what you want clearly
• and much more

Because we will talk about consent in all interactions these exercises are age appropriate for teens and tweens and all are gender inclusive.

Erica Scott is the creator of The Consent Culture Intro Workshop and co-author of the book Creating Consent Culture: A Handbook for Educators. As a survivor of child sexual abuse, 20 plus years of working in a male dominated industry, and as a mother of young adult children, they feel the urgency to bring more effective consent education to a wider audience. She is the CEO of Creating Consent Culture and has taught consent in Canada, India and the US. In 2019 she was given the Rex Karmaveer Global Award for Social Innovation.
