About the Workshop:
"Practicing Polyamory Through an Intersectional Lens" w/ Thaddeus Day, M.S. LPC
Polyamory is often framed as inherently liberatory, but who is that liberation for? In a primarily white state and within communities that can unconsciously center whiteness, thinness, able‑bodiedness, and neurotypical norms, practicing consensual non‑monogamy does not automatically dismantle systems of power. If anything, those systems can propagate themselves inside our polycules, our dating patterns, and our community spaces.
This workshop explores what it means to practice polyamory through a truly intersectional lens and ideas for creating an equitable space. Together, we’ll briefly overview how race, neurodiversity, trauma, and systemic oppression shape dating dynamics systemically, influence culture, and impact our communication styles.
