Winter Solstice Yoga Nidra ~ Sacred Intentions
This Winter Solstice come meditate with us and set sacred intentions for the new year.
Time & Location
Dec 20, 2020, 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM
About the Event
Come sink in to your Self as we ground and meditate in community to discover your intentions, followed by a guided meditative Journey through the layers of your being to release blockages and sow the seeds of your intentions into the fertile soil of your subconscious mind. With live music by special guest Kenji Stasiewicz. We begin with a brief Journey into the Heart to discover your Sat Sankalpa, or Sacred Resolve. Different than a New Year's Resolution, this resolve is a sacred intention we set for how we choose to show up in our lives - for ourselves as well as in support of our families and communities. This resolve is more focused on how we want to BE than what we want to DO. There will be discussion and guidance to help you discover your Sat Sankalpa. Next we'll practice Yoga Nidra, or Psychic Sleep. This is an ancient method of deep meditation to relax the body and mind as we sow the seeds of this resolve into our subconscious and hold space for healing and release. This guided meditative journey will take us through the layers (or Koshas) of our being as seen through the lens of Yoga - physical (Anamayakosha), energetic (Pranamayakosha), mental/emotional (Manomayakosha), intellect/intuitive (Vijnanamayakosha), and bliss (Anandamayakosha). Kenji's gentle live music will carry us throughout the event. Much of our time together will be spent in stillness, and comfort is essential! Please have a soft space to lie down (a bed, couch, or a yoga mat space), and anything else you might desire to create a cozy nest (more pillows!!). If you have yoga props, such as bolsters or blocks, please have those handy as well. You will also need a journal, writing utensil, water, a sacred space/altar, a candle (or several), and an open heart. We'll meet online on Sunday December 20th, 10am - 12pm PST (doors open at 9:45am for you to come settle in and do a tech check). This event will be shared with SPW (SexPositive World) so there may be attendees from other SP chapters present. Guests of members are also welcome.
