The Right to Pleasure is a panel discussion on the reality of prison in America in relation to pleasure, October 24, 2021. Some may argue that the purpose of prison is to deprive an inmate of pleasure, that they must “serve their time” and be punished. The reality is that touch is universal to the human experience, a hug, handshake or even masturbation are punishable offenses for those incarcerated. This panel explores the real experiences of inmates, and those that volunteer within prisons around the side effects of this treatment, and the laws that create this environment.
